JOIN US EXPLORING THE GLACIER, INSIDE AND OUT!
The Moulin & Ice Climbing Tour is the perfect way to get into climbing while exploring the glacier like never before. Our aim for the day is to teach you the basics of climbing on ice and then lower you into a moulin (waterhole/cave), or crevasse in the glacier for a truly blue-ice experience.
We have scouted four different glaciers to find the best location for your tour, so we are sure to have great scenery, crevasses, moulins (water holes) and walls of ice for the day’s fun. The trip is for four people maximum per guide, so you can maximise your time on and in the ice.
As with all the Icetroll trips we offer, it is not necessary to be an athlete for this tour, you should just have an interest in trying a new activity and taking your chance to get into the glacier more than you ever could in a day tour elsewhere. Beginners are more than welcome, as are children(please call us BEFORE booking children, so we can sort the right tour for you), but we can’t offer a discount on the price (we are sorry!) because of the low number of people per guide.
If you have an interest in this, just ask us and we can chat about your options. We have all the ice climbing gear, so all you need to bring is the usual outdoor clothing for your trip (including waterproof clothing, sunglasses, and gloves!).

Warm hat and gloves, warm clothing including a good rain jacket, waterproof trousers are a great idea if you have them, camera, drink bottle, sunglasses are essential for climbing, lunch. If you don’t have good solid hiking boots, we have climbing boots to loan.

• From Sogndal: Take road 55 to Gaupne (approximately 30km) Turn left onto road 604 toward Breheimsenter and Jostedalen (approximately 32km to Breheimsenter – our meeting place). After the 32km you will see a signpost for ‘Breheimsenteret’, then turn left around a red house and immediately left again.
• From Lom: take road 55 to Gaupne. Turn right onto road 604 toward Breheimsenter and Jostedalen then follow directions above:follow the instructions above:

You need to tell us you are on a bus BEFORE YOU BOOK if you want us to wait for you and take you in our vehicle to the lake.
If you are on public transport (bus) we can wait for the Glacier Bus to arrive, but recommend you stay in Jostedal after the tour, so we don’t rush back for the bus that leaves Jostedal in the afternoon! If you miss any bus connections, we have no responsibility for this or consequent transport you require (we will try to help you, but this is not our job – our trips often run later than advertised, there is a lot of nature to enjoy!).
